How an ice maker working?

How an ice maker working?

Feb 04, 2024

The water automatically enters into a water storage tank through the water replenishment valve, and then through the flow control valve, the water will be sent to the shunt by the small water pump, the water is uniformly sprayed onto the surface of the ice maker, and flows through the wall of the ice maker like a curtain of water, therefore the water is cooled down to the freezing point, and the water that has not been frozen by evaporation will flow into the storage tank through the multi-holes to restart the cycle of work. The frozen water in the storage tank is continuously circulated deliver to the plate or evaporator by a centrifugal pump.

When the ice reaches the required thickness, the heat from the compressor is redirected back into the ice maker sandwich wall, replacing the low-temperature liquid refrigerant. This creates a film of water between the ice and the evaporator tube wall, which will act as a lubricant as the ice falls freely by gravity into the trough below. And the water comes from the process of ice making will be returned to the water storage tank through the porous slot, which also prevents the wet ice from being discharged by the machine.
